Mia's initial studies were in portrait and figurative painting after which she inclined toward still life and floral subjects.  She is drawn to the tremendous energy flowers embody and is captivated by their ability to be both delicate and ethereal whilst generating force and strength, which compels her to create vast canvases for her compositions.  Mia is meticulous in her study of subtle shades, light, forms and spaces throughout, with her floral paintings taking months to complete.  She aims to capture the essence of her subject and allows it complete ownership of the canvas.  By enlarging the scale, the nature of the subject is intensified, generating a wall of life.

Mia's work is collected internationally.
